At BGS you can practise sports, you can dance and now you can sing!

Off-key and out-of-time?

TAPALANOTE - literally "you're off-key" - is a good Belgian joke, and has become our very own "visiting card". It also underlines that there is more than wanting to sing together that brings us together: it's also about the sheer pleasure of singing, mixed in with a generous sprinkling of fun.

As with all BGS activities, the basic principle is the same: a fun meeting place for a shared activity we love. It's also a chance to meet other members, both men and women, in a friendly atmosphere, while sharing a creative moment.

TAPALANOTE is around twenty women and men led by a professional choir conductor. Some are just beginning to discover choral singing while others are improving their vocal skills through this common musical project. Amateur and experienced musicians alike are all involved in this shared experience.

Not only do we sing once a week together, we also share our songs with a wider audience. This can be at a concert in Brussels or elsewhere, but also by taking part in international gay and lesbian events abroad. It's a great moment for all when we can introduce what we do and what we have achieved to the outside world.

Whether your taste in music leans more towards French or English song, towards classical or ethnic music, you are sure to find your place in our constantly evolving repertoire.

Please join us at any one of our Tuesday evening rehearsals. Your voice (and yourself) will find a warm welcome.

Cost

Subscription (10 months):

from 1 September: 100 euro
from 1 January: 65 euro
from 1 May: 35 euro

The subscription combined with the BGS annual membership fee allow you to sing along all year.

The GALEAVOCE Choir has restarted in September with a new choir conductor, Bernard Guillemin!

You don’t need to be a musical expert. Bernard teaches using a method accessible to singers of all levels.

The goal of the choir is to have fun and share the pleasure of singing in a group. The repertoire is mainly classical music but also includes songs from the renaissance, ethnic music, etc…

Rehearsals take place the first Wednesday of each month from 19h to 21h30, at MAC ("Maison Arc en Ciel" – Rainbow House) Marché au charbon, 42 and the third or fourth Sunday of each month, at Polyvalent room of MAC, Rue de la Chaufferette 3, (narrow street in front of MAC), 1000 Brussels

Next rehearsals: 5 and 23 November, 3 and 21 December 2008.
