Three choirs will sing against AIDS, not once but twice, on Saturday 24 November 2018 at the Maison du Peuple in Saint-Gilles at 4pm and again at 8pm.
Tapalanote is Brussels Gay Sports's very own LGBTQI+ choir. Coached by Yvonne Duong, this colourful group of around fifty singers presents a very wide repertoire, ranging from pop to variety, world music and jazz. Our music reflects who we are: a choir that thrives on diversity, respect, and fun!
Zinnechœur brings together around thirty choristers from a wide variety of backgrounds, just like the zinneke, this dog on the banks of the Senne that comes from everywhere and nowhere at the same time. This cosmopolitan group sings an eclectic repertoire, combining rock, jazz, world music and rather unconventional classical music. It’s link with Tapalanote? Yvonne Duong coaches both choirs!
Buena Vida social band is the choir created by CNCD-11.11.11, umbrella of NGOs acting for social justice and international solidarity. La BVSB is a group of around forty singers of very different background. The choir is coached by the very dynamic Mouchette Liebmann and Pascale Chardome, who is also composer and musician.
All proceeds from the concert will be donated to ‘Swim for Life’, a swimming marathon organised by Brussels Gay Sports since 1996. Money raised goes to support specific projects for preventing and combating Aids.
